Technical answers
Frequently asked questions about tube end forming
Answers about end operations, workable diameters and integration with other processes.
Request a technical assessmentWhich tube end-forming operations can RECA perform?
The department can perform tapering, expanding, threading, rolling, closing, facing and other functional end deformations. The sequence is defined according to the drawing and the final function of the tube.
Which tube diameters can be end formed?
RECA equipment can process tubes from 8 mm to 90 mm in diameter. Feasibility also depends on material, wall thickness, initial shape and the amount of deformation required.
Is tube forming performed with CNC equipment?
The department has 6 CNC tube-forming machines and 4 manual machines. This combination supports repeat production, dedicated developments and different manufacturing requirements, from samples through series production.
Which materials can be end formed?
RECA mainly works with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Tooling, steps and parameters are assessed according to material behaviour and required geometry to control deformation and final quality.
Can end forming be combined with other processes?
Yes. End forming can precede or follow laser cutting, bending, stamping and welding, producing components ready for joining, assembly or subsequent manufacturing operations.
